In the form of motor courses and free play, the child is led to explore the equipment at his disposal. Each week, the equipment is different and placed in a different way. It allows the exploration of textures, such as sensory mats, sizes (small balls and large balls), the action of going over or under, etc. The balance is also worked with stilts or balls, for example.
The approach is provocative, which means that the material stimulates the child and not the teacher. The facilitator plays a facilitating role to help the child develop his or her full motor potential. In this sense, she intervenes little or not at all.
This is a time that belongs to the child, where all the materials left on the floor can be used by the child. The goal here is not to use the material in the right way, but to stimulate the child's creativity to use it in the way that suits him/her.
Parents are welcome to stay on site if they wish. However, they must wear a mask. Also, they should be aware that the workshop is exploratory, so they will not be present at a facilitator-led event.
I made a career change 6 years ago into the field of early childhood development.
Childhood educator specialized in eco-education through nature, human connection and the desire to see the world anew through the eyes of children are things that have guided my professional reorientation.
I have since developed workshops for 0-5 year-olds with the aim of developing autonomy and an openness to the world.
This activity takes place in Studio 1 (on the mezzanine).
Kids must wear shoes.
